The 2003 edition to the Alamo Bowl featured the Michigan State Spartans, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

In a defensive slugfest, Nebraska got on the board first, following a 29 yard field goal by kicked David Dyches. Michigan State's Dave Rayner got the equilizer, kicking a 46 yard field goal to tie the game at 3, at the end of the 1st quarter. In the second quarter, running back Cody Ross scored on touchdown runs of 2 and 6 yards, to give Nebraska a 17-3 lead.

They never relinquished that lead, and that ended up the final score.
