233rd Street is a station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located in the Bronx at the intersection of 233rd Street and White Plains Road, it is served by the 2 train (all times), and by the 5 train (rush hours in the peak direction).
The station was rehabilitated in the spring of 2006. During that time, artwork called Secret Garden: There's No Place Like Home by Skowmon Hastanan was installed. This station will also be fully ADA accessible, 3 elevators are in the process of being installed at this station. One elevator will be from the NW corner of East 233rd Street and White Plains Road to mezzanine level (outside fare control), another two elevators will lead from inside fare control to each of the 2 station platforms.
