Adam Worton

Adam Worton (born 10 April 1986) plays for Newtown AFC (http://www.newtownafc.co.uk/index.html) in the Welsh Premier League.

Adam was a youth/trainee at Hereford United for three seasons becoming a regular for the reserve team but making just four first tean appearances in minor cup competions. Released by Hereford him in the summer of 2006 he signed for Caersws in the Welsh Premier League. Following a short spell with Caersws Adam was subsequently transferred to local Welsh Premier League rivals Newtown AFC.

For the 2007-08 Adam was a regular in the Newtown team playing on both flanks and also in the centre of midfield. Awarded trophy for most first team appearances in a Newtown shirt at the clubs end of season awards ceremony. Scoring twice in the league both comming in an away fixture against Llangefni Town lead to him being voted Welsh Premier player of the week as voted by http:welsh-premier.com. Numerous solid performances led to transfer approaches from teams in the English pyramid system which were rejected by Newtown.
