Alan Caffrey (born in Dublin) is assistant manager at Bohemians in the FAI League of Ireland.
[edit] Playing career
Alan Caffrey began his career at Watford but never made the breakthrough to the first team and returned to Ireland where he spent a season at Home Farm Everton in the League of Ireland First Division.
[edit] Coaching career
After he quit playing, Caffrey took spent 3 and a half years taking his coaching badges at Lilleshall. When Adrian Boothroyd took over the youth academy at West Bromwich Albion, he took Caffrey on as assistant.
After 3 years at West Brom, he returned to Dublin as assistant manager to Gareth Farrelly at Bohemian F.C.. When Farrelly was sacked in August 2007 in the wake of the FAI Cup exit to Shamrock Rovers, Caffrey took over as caretaker manager with Pat Cleary until the end of the season.
When Sean Connor was appointed as manager of Bohemians, he kept Caffrey on as his assistant.
