Anacrothe is a video game character in the first Legacy of Kain game. In Blood Omen he was voiced by Richard Doyle. In the early stages of production, Anacrothe was known as "Nauzhinger".
Anacrothe served as the Guardian of the Pillar of States for about 500 years, from after Vorador's assault on the Circle until his death at the hands of Mortanius the Necromancer. As Guardian of the Pillar of States, Anacrothe was skilled in the arts of alchemy and could fuse magic and science to create powerful potions.
Along with Bane the Druid and Dejoule the Energist, Anacrothe created the magical fortress known as Dark Eden. When Kain confronted Anacrothe, Dejoule and Bane in Dark Eden, Anacrothe escaped, but not without first summoning Malek the Sarafan. Later, Anacrothe confronted Mortanius at the Pillars of Nosgoth, accusing him of bringing about the downfall of the Circle. Anacrothe attempted to kill Mortanius, but failed and was killed by the Necromancer, making Anacrothe the seventh Circle member killed on Kain's journey.
