Anatoly Zinevich

Anatoly Vladimirovich Zinevich (born 1932, Khmelnytskyi, Ukrainian SSR - August 1, 2000, Yerevan) was a General-Lieutenant of Ukrainian origin, for whom "Armenia became the second homeland"[1], one of the commanders of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army.
In 1953 he entered Proskurovsk tank school, then he finished the Frunze Military Academy and the highest academical courses for the USSR leadership. He had served in Afghanistan, Somalia and Ethiopia. In 1992-97 he occupied different positions at the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army, was the First deputy commander of Army. Since 1997 Anatoly Zinevich had been the deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia.
