The Attacktix Battle Figure game is a collectible action figure game featuring characters from the Star Wars saga, the Transformers franchise, and Marvel Comics characters. Approximately 3.5 inches tall, these small figures are marketed by Hasbro and feature a wide variety of spring-loaded action features. Figures have combat features such as swinging melee weapons, firing guns, launching energy blasts, and swinging hands. These are especially notable as these spring-loaded features are significantly stronger than their peers in the regular action figure market. G.I. Joe-based figures are also widely rumored.
The game of Attacktix, owned by Hasbro, is played using figures on bases, either black or chrome. These figures have special weapons, like force push projectiles, missile projectiles, hand-swiping action, and Lightsaber swinging motion. But a new type of Attacktix figure called the effect figure has emerged ever since series 2. The effect figure has no attack but a spinner. Every time you use this spinner at the beginning of your turn, the effect greatly influences your turn. For example, a figure in the game, R2-D2 from Star Wars, has a spinner that decides how many attacks you get. A normal turn includes 2 attacks, but R2-D2 can decide how many attacks you get. You can get 1, 2, 3, even 4 attacks with R2-D2's spinner. So there is a 50% chance you will end up with more attacks on your turn.

[edit] Star Wars
Star Wars Attacktix Series One was released in Summer 2005 to promote the new movie, Revenge of the Sith. All the figures in series one were from Episode 3. Series Two was released in Fall 2005. Figures in series two were a mixture of the old and new trilogies. Series Three was released in January 2006. Figures in series three were from the original trilogy. Series Four was released in June 2006. 18 figures are available in booster packs, and they shipped with Transformers Attacktix Series 1.
The Starter Set series one contained one random common battle figure, along with those listed below. Also in the starter set was an instructional CD-ROM, and a checklist for series one.
The Battle Case was released with Series one, and included a limited edition Clone Sergeant, along with a new set of rules for "Capture the Flag." Battle Masters are larger based figure, with a greater point value. Series one consisted of Boga and an AT-RT. Series one Boga had a "Striking Tail". Series one AT-RT fired four small missiles.
Series two had two Starter Sets, each contained one random common battle figure from series two, along with those listed below. Also in the series two starter sets were an instructional CD-ROM (version 2), and a checklist for series two. Series Two's Repubic Gunship introduced a 'take-off' line where the Gunship could be detached from the base and 'fly' up to the 8-inch limit distance from the base. This feature allowed the player attack distant targets while keeping the base out of range of apponents. This feature also appears in a later Boba Fett figure.
Series 3 release date was January 2006. Series 3 introduced a new type of attack with the Tusken Warlord's "Prodder" or "Poker" attack. The weapon jumps out of the barrel, just far enough to make contact, but never leaves the figure.
Series 4 Star Wars had the figure list drop to 18 figures, and 2 figures per booster. Series 4 no longer has the Common figure, only packing "Rare" and "Super Rare" figures in each box. 6 Rares and 12 Super Rares to collect in all. Preview images of a Series 4 Starter Set showed a set containing Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Tusken Warlord, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader. However, the final version included Han Solo, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, and Greedo. It is not known at this time if there will be two Starter Sets or one. Series 4 had a repainted Republic Gunship. There was also an Intergalactic showdown pack including the AT-RT, Omega Sentinel, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Luke, and Darth Vader.
