Robert Alden Titchenal (born October 17, 1917 in Ventura, California) is a former college football head coach. From 1953 to 1955, he served as the head football coach at New Mexico. He compiled a 12-15-1 record, as the head coach of New Mexico. From 1957 to 1964, he was the head football coach at San Jose State, where he compiled a 33-46-1 record. His overall record as a coach is 45-61-2. In his playing days, Bob captained the only undefeated San Jose State football team in school history.[citation needed] He went on to play professionally for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers.
