[edit] Etymology of the term

The term bootylicious was first heard in a rap song by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg entitled, "Fuck Wit Dre Day(And Everybody's Celebratin)". This song is on Dr. Dre's album The Chronic. Destiny's Child member, Beyonce Knowles, then wrote a song named "Bootylicious" in 2001 to be performed by her and her group Destiny's Child.

The word was added to multiple dictionaries in 2004. It is a portmanteau of "booty" (buttocks) and "delicious." Beyoncé has said that her definition of the word is "beautiful, bountiful and bounce-able." She also said that the term is also about feeling beautiful and glamorous in one's own skin.
