Coconut candy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coconut candy is the candy that made by coconut milk and coconut cream, produced in Bến Tre province, Vietnam which is named "Land of coconut".
[edit] Manufacturing
First, the mixture of coconut milk and coconut cream is cooked at a very high temperature. Afterwards, a malt substance is mixed in. When it is still hot and soft, it is cut into flat pieces and then strings. Once that is completed, they are packaged.
[edit] Economically
Ben Tre currently has hundreds of coconut candy manufacturers.[1] Though sold throughout the country, it is also exported to other Asian countries and some parts of Europe and North America.[1] In Bel Tre, coconut candy companies make up thirty percent of the enterprises.[2] With the high prices of materials for the production, many companies have had to stop production.[3]
