[edit] Drowning In Isolation Biography

The Post-pop-punk rockers from Aylesbury, England create and record songs solely for the purpose of encouraging fans to be who they are through the face of diversity. First meeting in their first year of High School (Secondary School), they instantaneously knew that they were not going to fit in with the common stereotypes found in the modern schools. Brought up in public schools, the sextet have lived on Council Estates most of their lives. They could not afford to buy "posh" instruments and guitar lessons, so the band mainly taught themselves in after-school lessons/activities.

The first song written by the band is called Puppet Kids. The song was inspired by the materialistic views of teenagers in this current age, and by how easily people can be judged by the way they look, rather than their personality. The message behind this song is to Believe in yourself as the only person who is really judging you is yourself.

[edit] Rachel Thomas

Being the lead singer to the pop-punk sextet is a confidence booster for the young singer. After constantly being bullied at school, her confidence was at an all-time low in 2005, until she became friends with her fellow band-mates. She quotes that "Being on stage is the biggest high I can ever have. Performing with the band is a way I can stand up to bullies and show them that their harassment towards me has made me gain self-confidence and that I can do whatever I put my mind to."

When Rachel is performing at a live performance, the crowd can feel the dedication and commitment towards the music that makes others believe in themselves.

[edit] Katie Bateman

Bubbles. The one thing that goes through the acoustic guitarist's mind apart from being a successful member of the band. Bubbles. Katie has, believe it or not, psychoanalyzed the meaning of Bubbles and has come to the fascinating conclusion that they are "Messed up". Following her other dream to be a Psychologist, the young band member brings it upon herself to mess with her fellow band member's heads, when she's not rocking out with the Acoustic guitar. Whilst rocking out at live shows, the third guitarist of the band is noticeable with the startling alternately coloured fingernails.

[edit] Jessica Goodwin

Jessica, or as band mates and close fans call her, Jesska. Is the second guitarist of the band, and undoubtably the silent leader. A self confessed "control freak", Jesska is seen as a motherly type figure to the band, caring not only for band mates but for their fans also. Her first real influence of a rock band being My Chemical Romance at the age of thirteen, and her first ever concert being Kids in glass houses at the age of 15 with Katie, her music tastes, obviously haven't always been as good as they have been today. Mcfly and girls aloud are among those with the "pleasure" of having Jesska as a fan, when, she would want me to say young and foolish, but in real terms it was merely a year ago.

Being brought up in a family of country rockers, rock has always been second nature to her. Therefore being in a band just seems right.

[edit] Craig Manners

Amazing guitarist. Two words that immediately compliment the young Slash fan. Craig has always been into rock music, and has recently picked up a guitar and worked his heart out to be the best for us, so we can get far. Since Craig started High School, he has always been the centre of ridicule and humiliation. Music has always been his escape from the real world. He puts his heart and soul into good music, and doesn't really care about the fame he might get from being the amazingly awesome guitarist he is.

[edit] Ryan Johnson

Being the very youngest in the band is tough on Ryan. As he is a year younger than the rest of the band, his fellow band mates feel a brotherly or sisterly protection towards the bassist. With the almost identical physical appearance to the late Kurt Cobain, Ryan is often nicknamed 'Kurt' and is almost the reincarnation of the Rock God himself, minus the fact Ryan plays bass guitar and isn't the lead singer of the band, whilst Kurt was the lead guitarist and lead singer.

The baby of the band only pushes himself further into the music he plays just to be as good as his idols and fellow band mates.

[edit] Joe Turner

The back beat of the band, Joe is almost the heart of the music making sextet. Being the comic of the band, Joe is the one person who keeps the other five members sane with his fun loving nature and ability to make a joke out of even the worst situations. Joe obviously has a natural talent not only to form the basis of the band, but to basically be the heart and soul of the band. Being the "older brother" anybody can turn to, even fans in many cases. Joe is the support of the band in many ways. Helping many of the members overcome personal problems such as depression.

[edit] Side projects

Although a number of cool side projects like t-shirt companies and volunteering and helping the blind should occupy here, basically, the only side project the band has time for is their school work. Each having vivid dreams of working hard and building a better life for their family, none are about to sit back and let the opportunity of this band slip through their fingers.
