Eddie Briggs

Eddie Briggs is a United States politician from Mississippi, best known for serving as a Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi from 1992 to 1996 under fellow Republican, Governor Kirk Fordice. Briggs was the first Republican to held the office of Lieutenant Governor since Reconstruction[1]. Before that he served in Mississippi Senate.
Briggs run for second term as Lieutenant Governor in in 1995, but lost to Democrat and future Governor Ronnie Musgrove[2].
Briggs also briefly consider running for Governor in 1999, but withdrew from race. Governorship was won by Musgrove[3].
