The Eleventh Hour is a upcoming American science-fiction/drama series, which is based on the limited 2005 British sci-fi series of the same name, set to air on CBS for the Fall of 2008. The series is a joint venture between Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Granada Television and Warner Bros. Television.
[edit] Details
"The Eleventh Hour" follows Dr. Jacob Hood (Rufus Sewell), a brilliant biophysicist and special science advisor to the government, as he investigates scientific crises and oddities. His jurisdiction is absolute and Hood is dogged in his pursuit of those who would abuse and misuse scientific discoveries and breakthroughs for their own gain. His passion and crusade is to protect the substance of science from those with nefarious motives. He is called in at the eleventh hour and he represents the last line of defense. Hood is also assisted in his mission by his feisty female bodyguard Rachel (Marley Shelton) as they save people from the worst abuses of science[1].
[edit] Production
Although the British version, which starred Patrick Stewart and Ashley Jensen, only lasted 4 episodes, the CBS version is expected to produce 13 episodes. Another difference between the US and British versions is the run time: The UK version ran for 90 minutes while the US version will be a hour-long series.
Jerry Bruckheimer is one of the executive producers. Mick Davies will write the script and Danny Cannon will direct.[2] Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff have been chosen as showrunners.[3]
