Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Original Soundtrack is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. The official soundtrack was released on May 28, 2008 by Konami Digital Entertainment under the catalog number GFCA-98/9. A soundtrack album will also be packaged with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition.
This album was released in a DVD sized jewel case (advertised as "Super Jewel Case" on the packaging). There is no text on the front cover, which features nothing more than Snake's face, printed on extra glossy paper, rendered through CGI. It is the same imaging as that of the North American game release, without the title. There is no back cover, meaning the CDs can be seen from the outside, through the case. The booklet is printed on very high quality, semi-see-through paper, printed on the right side only. It features full credits for all the songs, first in CD order, and then regrouped by contribution. It also features lyrics to the two vocal songs.
