Looks and Smiles

Looks and Smiles is a novel by English writer Barry Hines. Published in 1981, it tells the story of a disadvantaged young man trying to get by in Margaret Thatcher's England. At the same year, the novel was adapted into a film by the same name, and directed by Ken Loach.
